Your local aerial engineers for Ware
Ware is an old malting town on the River Lee, home of the Great Bed of Ware, with Victorian terraces near the river and larger estates on the hills above. Homes near the river can be sheltered by the valley sides.
Depending on your road, Crystal Palace or the nearby Hertford relay may give the best picture. We test before fitting, then make sure every channel is tuned and working.
Ware's older streets near the river are mostly Victorian terraces and converted maltings, while estates such as Kingshill and the roads towards Wareside sit higher up and are more exposed to the wind. Converted maltings and other flats usually share a communal aerial, which we can repair or upgrade for the whole building.
In the villages around Ware, including Thundridge, Wareside and Stanstead Abbotts, many homes are in small valleys of their own along the Rib and the Ash. Signal there can vary a lot from one house to the next, so we measure on the roof rather than relying on what the neighbours have.
Our engineers are often out in Wareside, Stanstead Abbotts, Thundridge, Kingshill and Great Amwell as well as the centre of Ware.

Getting a new aerial in Ware
Older houses in Ware usually have a chimney that makes a solid base for an aerial, though we always check the brickwork and stack before trusting a new bracket to it. For terraced houses in Ware, we often replace a tired chimney bracket and decades-old cable at the same time as fitting a new aerial.
Valley locations like Ware can be shielded from distant transmitters, so we often use high-gain aerials and choose the mounting point carefully. Every new aerial we fit in Ware is aimed at Crystal Palace or the Hertford relay, wired with good-quality cable and tested channel by channel. If you want TV in more rooms, we add extra points at the same visit.
Not sure whether you need a new aerial at all? We will tell you honestly if a repair or a simple realignment would do the job.
Read how a new aerial installation works.
Same-day aerial repairs in Ware
Riverside homes in Ware can be shielded by the valley, so many repairs are about raising or re-pointing the aerial rather than replacing it.
If your TV picture has gone wrong in Ware, it is usually one of these:

old or damaged coax that has let moisture in over time.
blocky pictures and stuttering sound, usually a signal or cable problem.
bent or snapped elements, a twisted mast or a bracket pulled loose after high winds.
a "no signal" message on every channel, often a broken cable or connection.
some channels missing after a retune or a transmitter change.
nearby 4G or 5G masts interfering with Freeview, usually fixed with a filter.
If an aerial has come down or is hanging loose, call us straight away, as it can damage the roof. We are about 14 miles away in St Albans and treat these as urgent. If your aerial was damaged in a storm, check your home insurance: storm damage is often covered, and we can provide a written quote for the claim.
We repair rather than replace wherever that makes sense, and we will be straight with you when an old aerial isn't worth saving.

TV signal in Ware: transmitters and regional news
Most homes in Ware get Freeview from Crystal Palace in south London, about 27 miles to the south. It carries BBC London and ITV London for regional news.
Freeview also runs a smaller relay at Hertford. Where hills or buildings get in the way, pointing at the Hertford relay can be the better option for parts of Ware.
We always take a meter reading at roof height first. It tells us which transmitter gives the cleanest signal and whether you need a high-gain aerial or an amplifier at all.
TV wall mounting in Ware
In larger Ware homes we often mount TVs in several rooms, sometimes above a fireplace, with the cables hidden inside the wall. We can hide the cables inside the wall or in neat trunking, fit a shelf for your box, and mount a soundbar to match.
See our TV wall mounting page for more, or ask us to mount the TV on the same visit as your aerial work in Ware.

Starlink satellite internet in Ware
Villages around Ware, such as Wareside and Thundridge, often have slower broadband, making Starlink worth considering.
Getting the position right is what makes Starlink reliable. We scan the sky from the roof and garden with the Starlink app and choose the spot with the fewest obstructions. We then fix the dish on a secure roof, chimney, wall or pole mount and route the cable neatly into the house to the router.
Whether you already have the kit or are about to order it from Starlink, we can do the installation for you.
See our Starlink installation page for more detail.

Dishes, extra points and TV mounting in Ware
Alongside aerials we repair and move Sky Q dishes, fit Freesat and foreign-language satellite systems, add extra TV points and mount TVs on the wall with the cables hidden. Need security too? See our CCTV installation in Ware page.
Ware aerial questions
Which way do aerials face in Ware?
For most homes Crystal Palace or the Hertford relay. Your neighbours' aerials are a useful clue, but we always check with a meter because trees and new buildings change things.
Do you do emergency aerial repairs in Ware?
We can usually reach Ware the same day or the next. It's roughly 14 miles from our base, and a morning call gives us the most flexibility.
Do you cover Wareside and Stanstead Abbotts?
Yes. As well as central Ware we work in Wareside, Stanstead Abbotts, Thundridge, Kingshill and Great Amwell and the rest of SG12. Nearby, we also cover Hertford, Hoddesdon and Broxbourne.
Can you repair storm damage to my aerial in Ware?
Call us as soon as it is safe to do so. A loose aerial can damage tiles or fall, so we treat storm call-outs in Ware as urgent and can provide a written quote for your insurer.
Should I have a loft aerial or a roof aerial in Ware?
Signal in parts of Ware is weaker, so an external aerial usually gives a more reliable picture. A loft aerial can work on higher ground; we test before recommending one.
Do you install Starlink in Ware?
Yes. We check for a clear view of the sky, mount the Starlink dish securely on the roof, a wall or a pole, and route the cable neatly into your Ware home.
Is there a TV aerial installer near me in Ware?
We are a local, family-run aerial installer about 14 miles away in St Albans, covering all of Ware and the surrounding villages.
