How we work
We started in St Albans in 1996 and have stayed a local, family business. Our installation team works alongside office-based advisers and a maintenance team who can usually help the same day when an existing aerial or dish develops a fault.
Every engineer has at least five years' trade experience with aerial and satellite systems. Vans carry the equipment needed to finish almost any job in one visit, including signal meters, so we choose aerials and directions based on real readings at your roof rather than guesswork.
Because we don't work for any TV provider, our advice is impartial. If a broadband service such as Freely or Sky Stream would suit you better than a new aerial, we'll say so.
Our story
St Albans Aerials & Satellites has been fitting and repairing TV aerials from St Albans since 1996. Over that time the work has changed a great deal: analogue TV has gone, Freeview and Freesat have arrived, frequencies have been reshuffled more than once, and many homes now mix aerial TV with streaming. What hasn't changed is the job itself: getting a reliable picture into people's homes, fitted neatly and explained clearly.
As customers asked for more, we added satellite dishes, TV wall mounting, communal aerial systems for flats and businesses, and Starlink installation. Our CCTV work grew into its own team, St Albans CCTV, with a separate phone line so security enquiries reach the right people.
Who does the work
Aerial, satellite and TV work is done by our aerial engineers, and CCTV and alarm work by our St Albans CCTV team, so the person who comes out knows that kind of system inside out.
Our vans carry signal meters, aerials, brackets, cable and the access equipment needed to finish most jobs in a single visit. Our office team takes calls and WhatsApp messages, books appointments and can often tell you what a fault is likely to be from a photo before an engineer arrives.

Insurance and standards
We carry £5m public liability insurance. Our engineers work at height every day, so they use proper ladders and roof equipment, follow safe working practices on roofs and chimneys, and leave the site tidy.
We give you the price before starting any work. If a repair would cost nearly as much as replacement, or something isn't worth doing, we'll tell you.
A local business
Our office is in the centre of St Albans, and most of our work is within about 25 miles of it: across Hertfordshire, into Bedfordshire and south Buckinghamshire, and in North London as far as Enfield. Working the same towns year after year means we know which transmitter suits which streets, where the trees and hills cause trouble, and which roofs need extra care.
You can see every town we cover on our areas page, with local reception and CCTV information for each.
